This class is especially designed to release tension from tight backs, shoulders and the neck. Ease tension headaches and back pain, deeply relax. Give yourself a mini holiday!

Relax, Unwind & De-Stress - Class 2, 1 Jan 2010

Stress means that your 'fight and flight' - stress mode is switched on for too long a period. This session will soothe the nervous system and access the relaaxation respsonse by focusing on releasing and relaxing the kidney organs and the adrenal glands.

Stress means that your 'fight and flight' - stress mode is switched on for too long a period. This session will soothe the nervous system and access the relaaxation respsonse by focusing on releasing and relaxing the kidney organs and the adrenal glands.

Relax & Unwind Class 3, 15 Mar 2009

Breath is the bridge between the mind and the body. This session emphaisis the use of the breathe to calm the mind and emotions.
 

 

 

RE-ENERGISE & RE-VITALISE CLASS 1

This programme is designed to energise and release the spine. The organs nourished by the spine are re energised. It is a total body workout for mind and body!

RE-ENERGISE & REVITALISE CLASS 2

Stage 2 of this programme now moves into a stronger energisation process. Part 1 of the Sun Salutation will increase circulation, boost the immune system and stimulate your inner fire.

Why should I practice Dru Yoga?

Dramatically improve your health. Statistics now show that even one session of Dru yoga can help ease stress and tension, raise energy levels, improve posture, and back care, enhance  coping skills and confidence levels.

How often should I practice Dru Yoga?

One session a week will enable you to experience a difference in your health And wellbeing. The most optimum of course is to take time every day to re-charge and replenish your batteries with a session. Remember that there are 1040 minutes in a day. 60 of those can radically enrich your life for every!

What time of day is best to practice?

The most optimum is to practice at the beginning of your day. It is the perfect way to start you day! However, it all depends on your lifestyle. If this is just not possible due to other commitments and family situations, then the evening is fine. It may be immediately on returning from work, or just before you go to bed. It is important not to practice your yoga on a full stomach, so  a few hours after a main meal is sensible!!

I am a beginner….can I join in?

Yes!! Dru Yoga is designed foe anyone to participate, Whether you are new of well familiar with yoga, we guarantee that you will enjoy your session. There will be something for everyone. We always provide plenty of modifications to postures and sequences to allow individuals of all levels the ability to participate.

Frequently asked safety questions

I am pregnant. Can I join in?

No. Pregnancy is a sensitive time for your body, all manner of changes are taking place with muscles and hormones. For this reason, we recommend that you seek the advice of a yoga teacher and get specific yoga for your needs and body type.

I have arthritis

What type of arthritis do you have? It is useful to have a diagnosis. Fop osteoarthritis – most yoga movement will be extremely helpful. Please do not push yourself beyond a natural comfortable limits.

Rheumatoid arthritis – this requires a little more sensitivity, especially with movements involving the neck. Please never perform shoulder stand or anything that puts pressure through the neck and head.

High blood pressure

Yoga can help high blood pressure. In general we suggest that you do not hold your arms above the head for any length of time. Also we suggest that you do not hold your breath for any of the poses. Please be cautious with inversions.

Heart problems

Inversions should be avoided, such as the Dog, shoulder stand, standing forward bend.

Diabetes

Once again. Yes, yoga can help. But like heart conditions, we recommend that you move according to your comfortable capacity. Raised arm poses should not be held for any length of time and inversions also not held. Breathing should maintain an easy flow and not be held.

Back pain

Generally Dru is excellent for improving back pain. However, if you have a disc injury, arthritis or any serious back condition, we recommend you to take advice of a Dru yoga instructor before starting. We advice you to get a diagnosis from a Osteopath and ask their advice on what specific movements to avoid. We can help you with this: Visit www.SootheClinic.com for further information.

Can my child join in the class?

Your children will be difficult to keep out of the class! Yes, let them join in and enjoy the class together. It will be fun. They may even find it easier than you!!

First of all check out your settings on your computer - is your safety feature activated? If so you might not be able to see the video. Click the allow pop ups from the tool bar at the top of your screen and all will be well. If this doesn’t work go onto google and search for another solution

My video keeps stopping mid-play

If your video keeps stopping part way through it may be because you don’t have a big enough modem allowance. Sorry. Talk to Virgin, they have good deals.
